I am unashamed about it. I love compact phones. I want my smartphone compact. In a world where everyone else is crazy about big smartphones, I am always on the lookout for the most compact phones I can buy for my personal use.
There is no universally agreed definition of the screen size of compact phones. Personally I have pegged the maximum screen size at 6.2 inches, though I am willing to go as high as 6.4 inches as phone displays keep getting bigger across the board.

Here are The Most Compact Phones of 2023
The list of the most compact phones is short, as there are not a lot of them being produced any more. I have seven models on the list. The ceiling of the screen size of the phones listed below is 6.2 inches. And none of them is bigger than 155x72x9mm or heavier than 200g. These are indeed the most compact phones released this year.
Samsung Galaxy S23: This is my favourite compact smartphone of this year. It is handy and comfortable in the hand, and also quite lightweight. It has a 6.1-inch display, its dimensions are 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6 mm, and it weighs 168g only. If you have not, have a look at my Samsung Galaxy S23 review.
Google Pixel 8: The Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch display (the largest one in this list), weighs 187g, and is 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9 mm in dimensions.
Apple iPhone 15: The 6.1-inch display of the iPhone 15 fits in 147.6 x 71.6 x 7.8 mm dimensions, and it weighs 171g.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro: While it has the same screen size, it is smaller than the regular iPhone 15 but heavier. The dimensions are 146.6 x 70.6 x 8.3 mm and it weighs 187g.
Sony Xperia 5 V: We are looking at a 6.1-inch display as well, with dimensions of 154 x 68 x 8.6 mm, and a weight of 182g.
Sony Xperia 10 V: Like the Xperia 5 V, this also has a display of 6.1 inches. Its dimensions are 155 x 68 x 8.3 mm and it weighs a dainty 159g, making it the second lightest smartphone on this list.
Sharp Aquos sense7: Again, we have a 6.1″ display fitted within dimensions of 152 x 70 x 8 mm. With a weight of 158g, it is the lightest smartphone on this list. Unfortunately, Sharp smartphones are rarely seen outside of Japan these days. If you want one, you will have to order and have it shipped to you.
Of the seven listed smartphones, two are iOS devices and five are Android devices. In other words, whichever side of the mobile ecosystem divide you exist in, there is a compact smartphone available for you.

Looking at all the options available, we have to pick the most compact; right? That honor goes to the Samsung Galaxy S23. It has the most compact dimensions of the lot and it is the lightest of them bar two. Say hello to the best mobile with small screen size.
Apple, Samsung, Sony, and Google are the main phone companies that still produce and sell compact smartphones. Most of the others have pretty much abandoned the compact smartphone segment and embraced larger screens – usually 6.5 inches and above.
