If you were asked to name the most powerful Blackberry smartphone, you would probably pick the PRIV without giving much thought to it. We reviewed the PRIV and found it a solid phone. But is it really the most powerful BlackBerry today?
We pitch the PRIV against the BlackBerry DTEK60 (again, who names these things?) to see which of the two is the most powerful Android smartphone of 2016.
PRIV | DTEK60 |
Display: 5.4 inches, 1440 x 2560 pixels display | Display: 5.5 inches, 1440 x 2560 pixel display. |
Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 | Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 |
1.8 GHz | 2.15 GHz |
Adreno 418 | Adreno 530 |
3 GB RAM | 4 GB RAM |
AnTuTu: 63,525 | AnTuTu: 147,126 |
This simple comparison above shows clearly how much more powerful than the PRIV the odd-named DTEK60 is. It is arguably twice as powerful. To give an even more complete picture, the DTEK60 also has the better spec’d cameras, has superb stereo speakers, has USB-OTG, has a fingerprint scanner, has faster charging, and is much lighter in weight than the PRIV. The DTEK60 outguns the PRIV on so many points that there is no competition.
As a matter of fact, the DTEK60 outguns some popular flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S7, HTC 10, Google Nexus 6P and Google Pixel in AnTuTu’s benchmark scores. It really is an impressive smartphone, it seems.
If you absolutely need a physical keyboard, then the PRIV is what the doctor ordered. But if what you are hunting for is the most powerful BlackBerry smartphone in the market as at today, nothing comes close to the BlackBerry DTEK60.
The DTEK doesn’t make a beep on most mobile tech blogs. It’s almost as if it doesn’t exist in the android world.
Khene,
You know how it is with media bias. The DTEK60 is one phone I’d love to use as my primary smartphone now. It is that good. But it is a BlackBerry and BlackBerry isn’t exactly the darling boy of the media right now. You are likely to get more traffic bashing BlackBerry than telling about how good the DTEK60 is. Sad.
