Move over Note II, Z30; Lumia 1520 is new Mobility battery champ!

Nokia Lumia 1520 battery life

Back in September 2013, I reported how the BlackBerry Z30 trumped the former battery champ, Samsung Galaxy Note II, to take the enviable spot. Well, we have a new champion, and by miles. The Nokia Lumia 1520’s battery life is truly amazing.

Here is how the three devices compare:

Samsung Galaxy Note II: 12 hours
BlackBerry Z30: 15 hours
Nokia Lumia 1520: 23 hours

As at the time I took the above screenshot, the 1520 was still running, so it will do better than 23 hours in the long run. In one fell swoop, the 1520 takes over from the 720 as the Windows Phone battery champ, and if GSMArena’s battery tests are anything to go by, is the combined phablet and smartphone battery life champ.

I will deserve my comment until Mr. Mo lay his hand on the 1320.
the 1320 pack the same battery as the 1520. Though they both have the same screen sizes, but with less screen resolution and processing power for the 1320, I want to assume it will trumps all the big guys up there.

    Good one.

But then, telling me your six cylinder engined car is more fuel efficient than my v12 monster just elicits a dismissive shrug from me.

    So what?

Would this same hardware do so well on a non Kindergarten, full multitasking OS like Android. ? The answer to that is up for grabs…

Wow! Awesome battery performance. The L1520 would be a great tool for me considering the Power Ups & Downs I’m experiencing in my hood.

    Erm…Mister Mo,

Move over Note II, Z30; Lumia 1520 is new Mobility battery champ!

The title sounds better to me this way:

Park well Note II, Z30; Lumia 1520 is new Mobility battery champ!
    😉

      PraizJosh,

Why didn’t I think of that? Much better title! Thanks.

@Andy The lumia 1320 battery test that was carried out by GSMArena state that it did worse than the 1520, apparently it’s older less power efficient CPU is the culprit.

@eyebeekay That’s the point, it’s the whole package, and android doesn’t have full multitasking.

    Oh, yes, it does.

‘full’ being relative, compared to the other, living OSes, it does FULL multitasking, all right..
