  2. Smart Marketing by Nokia.

    some questions.

For How much is this phone going?

That one month free internet access. Any data cap? How much cap?
Subsequently, any data cap for that N1,000 monthly. Damme 100mb?

Serves my best interest, I can use it on any network. Well until, MTN lifts their blockade on opera mini, I’m still not looking their way.

  4. @Yomi. How much would it go for. And what are the lowdowns of the “access to Internet service at an affordable rate.” What does this mean in terms of data size, megabyte, sms and voice calls? Please inform us. Like funlink with 1,500 NGN gives one a handsome package of sms, data and voice calls!

  5. This an impressive starting point, may be next time the deal shall be on a higher phone. That is nokia for you; bringing class to mass.Imagine that series40 phone with such capabilities of a smart phone.Anyway, lets know the price of the phone in clear terms.

  6. The price matters to me. Next is to inform us weather it comes with memory card of either 1 or 2GB? But it’s a nice initiative. Investors are relying much on 9jas. Kudos to my Countrymen!

  7. No talk on the price yet? I read on Techhail that it would cost 120 dollars. Since Nokia presence is strong in Nigeria, one would guess that the C3 shouldn’t be more than NGN17,500.00. Except they want to rip us!

  8. The Main free stuff here is the 1000. Talking about partnership there is a news going around that MTN is partnering with Apple for iphones.does anybody know about this.

  9. A friend just bought a Nokia C3 and i decided to do a quick review.

    First.
The phone looks like a Symbian phone, but don’t be deceived it is just a java phone.

    Looks/Harware.
The grip is nice, one hand usage is comfortable. A 2mp cam seats at the back and it comes with a 2gb microsd upgradable to 8gb.The casing looks solid and tight and the mixture of metal and plastic is not bad.I was unhappy that there was no volume controls on the side

    Home Screen
The home screen is divided into three parts with the third part allowing you to add 5 apps.I like the home screen

    Nokia/MTN free Data Bundle
I sent Nokia to 131 and the reply i received was “Dear Customer, you are not eligible for this promo. Please subscribe to any other MTN data plan to enjoy cheaper rates” Now my qs is, has it closed?

    UI
Good, old and simple but just don’t expect it to multitask because it has Qwerty(but don’t worry it will play ur music and radio in the background).

  10. Have a c3 2, but d funny thing is that the one month free subscription from mtn is not working and am asking yyyyyyyyyyyyyy? Nokia to 131 is not working. Same response “customer not eligible for the promo…..”

You are 100% right. The new native opera mini for symbian is working fine with MTN Nigeria.
But you are wrong to say that they have lifted the block. They just have not blocked it and lets hope that they wont.
    I personally believe that they wont block it for two reasons;
    1. The native BB opera mini is working fine with MTN.
    2. The opera cheat which MTN is trying to stop is based on java.
I give you credit for discovering and sharing.
As much as I like opera mini the additional features and lower memory usage am getting from the new UC Broswer will make me use opera less.

  12. Bosun99uk,
The MTN-Opera Mini reconciliation extends to the Java version as well, I’m now confirming. OM happens to be my favourite browser, although I can live without it,ie when Etisalat and Zain are acting up and I have to resort to Bolt Browser on the backs of Glo and (until yesterday) MTN.

  13. @Igho

You are 101% correct. My opera mini Java is now working.

At first it didnt work then i went to the settings and said it should do a network test next time it wants to connect and that was it, it started working when i refreshed.

    Many Thanks Igho

  14. bought a C3 barely a week now and using my old mtn line. the one month free subscription is not working. texting nokia to 131 comes with the reply not eligible for the promo. is there a time duration to the promo?

    leo

  15. I sent Nokia to 131 and the reply i received was “Dear Customer, you are not eligible for this promo. Please subscribe to any other MTN data plan to enjoy cheaper rates” everybody that I know that bought the Nokia C3 complained to the same problem. Now my question is, why are they lieing to us? or has it closed?

Now my question is, has the free 1 month subscription closed?

  17. @Josephine
I have not seen anybody that enjoyed the MTN/NOKIA 100MB free on Nokia C3. It is always the same reply that people get.

    @shayman
Cant really say which saves data better, cos the difference is not much.
But I prefer the way operamini renders pages for most websites.
