Latest reports claim that MTN Group CEO,Phuthuma Nhleko flew into Nigeria to personally be a part of the ongoing discussions regarding the fine. In a statement released today:

“Shareholders are advised that the Nigerian authorities have, without prejudice, agreed that the imposed fine will not be payable until the negotiations have been concluded,’’

So we watch as the story unfolds.

  1. They should pay up joor,if na one small company the authorities would have been unto them like rice on stew, now negotiations don enter..

  2. It’s not that easy. That money is huge.

Remember mtn is one of the major employer of labor. We won’t want them to pack and leave

  3. makes sense, can’t let regulatory agencies appear to be draconian when you’re hoping to attract FDR
