Google blesses Gmail with a dark mode and kills the Pixel Slate line

Dark Mode is a feature that almost everyone wants, whether for their apps or for the entire user interface of their smartphones. Gmail is next in line for a touch of this feature.

Reports say that Google is currently testing dark mode with some Gmail users and you can expect it to go public soon.

Still on Google, the company is taking its hands off the production of tablets. As such, the Pixel Slate line has been discontinued and there will be no successor. Chrome OS, which the Pixel Slate runs, will continue to be developed for its Pixelbook laptops.

However, existing Pixel Slate tablets will continue to be supported through June 2024, so if you own one, no worries.
