Huawei is on a roll in smartphone photography and once again, the company has bested its arch-rival, Samsung. Huawei Mate 30 Pro may not have Google services and apps pre-installed, but it has the best phone camera on the planet right now.
It took the first position away from Samsung Galaxy Note10+ on DxOMark’s chart.
The Mate 30 Pro’s quad camera is a fantastic piece of work. Here are the details it packs:
- 40MP primary sensor: 1/1.7″, 27mm-equivalent f/1.6-aperture lens, PDAF, OIS
- 40MP Ultra-wide sensor: 1/1.54″, 18mm-equivalent f/1.8-aperture lens, PDAF
- 8MP Telephoto sensor: 1/4″, 80mm-equivalent f/2.4-aperture lens, PDAF, OIS
- ToF 3D depth-sensor
- Dual-LED flash
DxoMark is yet to release camera test results for the new iPhone 11 range, and we are waiting to see what Google will pull off with the Pixel 4. But for now, the Mate 30 Pro it is that sits on Olympus.
Pity, it may not be sold in many countries outside of China, thanks to the lack of Google Mobile Services in it. Give a resounding welcome to the new smartphone camera king of 2019.
