Mediatek wins in Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 710 benchmark tests

In the beginning, Mediatek processors were universally inferior in performance to Snapdragon processors from Qualcomm. Of recent, that narrative has been changing and a number of Mediatek processors have stood up to and beaten their Snapdragon counterparts. New AnTuTu benchmark scores reveal that Mediatek’s new Helio G90T beats Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710.

The Redmi Note 7 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset, but its successor will be equipped with a Mediatek chip, and it isn’t a slough. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will have the new Helio G90T chipset beating in its chest. If you felt disappointment, don’t. The G90T beats Snapdragon 710 cleanly at AnTuTu performance benchmark tests, as revealed by Xiaomi. Have a look!

That gap is huge: 283,333 to 214,739. And this isn’t the first Mediatek processor to beat its Snapdragon counterpart. Mediatek has steadily built up momentum and isn’t playing second fiddle across board anymore. Qualcomm has a real challenger on the block.

The G90T’s identical twin, Helio G90, beat Snapdragon 730 recently too.

PS: The top processor in the above image with the 301,419 score is Huawei;’s Hisilicon Kirin 810 chipset. Fantastic lead it has there.

  1. This is the best thing I’ve read about Android this year. Most Android devices use MediaTek and who would believe that MediaTek would beat the almighty Snapdragon in the game. It’s unbelievable. Now, I can confidently use any phone with MediaTek processor without shame. Thanks, sir, for this update.

  2. Another AMD VS INTEL.. Have said it several times in the past no industry is as competitive as the tech industry. You can’t afford to tolerate complacency for 1 day.
Mediatek has been doing a lot to gain ground in the processor space, thereby improving its partnership with more OEM by the day..
    Innovation is the key.
