OPPO A9 2020 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM, quad camera, officially launched in Nigeria for ₦89,900

OPPO A9 2020 was announced about 2 weeks ago and has been available in India and Pakistan, and it has now officially landed in the West African country of Nigeria as well, along with a sidekick, the A5 2020.

The OPPO A9 2020 comes with a 6.5-inch waterdrop IPS LCD touchscreen, a quad-core rear camera, a rear fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and a big 5000mAh battery. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, has 128GB internal storage, and has options of 4GB and 8GB RAM. Only the 8GB RAM variant is being made available in Nigeria.

A closer look at the quad camera shows a 48 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide angle shooter, a 2 MP macro sensor, and a 2 MP depth sensor for portrait mode pictures. Hidden away in the waterdrop notch on the front is a 16 MP selfie shooter.

The A9 2020 is available in Marine Green and Space Purple. The 5000mAh battery is complemented by 10W fast charging and reverse charging so you can use it as a power bank to charge other devices.

OPPO A5 2020

The A5 2020 is a less endowed twin of the A9 2020. It has the same display, same processsor, and the same battery, but is equipped with 3GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage options. It has a quad camera too, but with a downgrade – the main sensor is a 12 MP shooter, instead of the 48MP main sensor on the A9 2020.

Also, the selfie camera is downgraded to 8 MP, instead of 16 MP that obtains on the A9 2020. OPPO A5 2020 is available in Dazzling White and Mirror Black colour options.

The recommended retail price of the A9 2020 8GB RAM variant in Nigeria is ₦89,900, while the prices of the A5 2020 models will be announced at a later date. OPPO A9 2020 and A5 2020 will be available from October 15 and late November 2019 respectively.

  1. I’m loving this device already, the specs are just the way I want my smartphone. And not bad at the price of N89,900. The 8GB RAM is just perfect for me 😊 I would love to see the full review soon.

    1. The OPPO A9 2020 is unmatched right now, truly. This is the phone to beat in its class.

But the thing with your question is that OPPO has little foothold in the market segment that drives the sales of Infinix, TECNO, and itel – the N15,000 to N55,000 segment. They are untouched in terms of features to price in that segment. As such, Transsion’s 3 musketeers will still post more sales overall.
