Nigeria’s SAT-3 submarine cable is back onstream

Apparently, the SAT-3 submarine cable previously owned by NITEL, and now in the possession of Ntel, has been out of service for a while. The Punch reports that repairs on the cable have been completed by Ntel.

According to the news item, the cable has also been moved away from shipping lanes in the approach to Lagos Port, because previous damages to cable in the past had been associated with the dropping and dragging of ships’ anchors.
