Nintendo plans to launch smartphone games starting today

To some of us that grew up in the 1990′ and  2000’s, the name “Nintendo” rings a bell. Gameboy anyone? 🙂 Ever heard of Super Mario, Super Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokémon, Star Fox, or Super Smash Bros? All these are all franchises from Nintendo.  I was crazy about it then. Especially the Gameboy, but that would be a story for another day.Miitomo

Nintendo plans to unveil its first smartphone game. The game titled Miitomo, will let players customize their Mii avatars, with which they can interact with Miis made by other players. The further details of the game is secret, but we’re inclined to believe their would be a from of social interaction in it.

Nintendo teamed up with Japanese Japanese mobile gaming giant DeNA to build the mobile game. The switch to making mobile games comes at a time when demand is reducing for Nintendo’s 3DS an Wii U consoles. The game will be made available for Android and iOS gamers. Upto five more games are to follow, and they will arrive before 2017.
