HMD Global has announced the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus. Nokia 5.1 plus is the global version of Nokia X5, while Nokia 6.1 Plus is the global version of the Nokia X6.
Both devices share the same 5.86-inch size LCD notched, edge-to-edge display with 19:9 aspect ratio. Both are equipped with rear dual cameras and both have Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistance.
Nokia 5.1 Plus
Nokia 5.1 Plus has only 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, along with microSD support for up to 400 GB storage. All the other features are the same as on the X5.
Nokia 6.1 Plus
Distinctive features separating the Nokia 6.1 Plus from the X6 include 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, plus support for a microSD slot for up to 400 GB. The rest of the specs are the same for both variants.
Nokia 7 Plus Android 9 Update
Android Central reports that “HMD’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas confirmed that the Nokia 7 Plus would be receiving the stable Android 9.0 Pie update in September”. That is not as far away as it sounds. September is just next month.
You can expect other Nokia devices, including the 6.1 Plus and 5.1 Plus, to follow after that. HMD promises 2 years of major Android updates and 3 years of monthly security updates for all its Android smartphones.
