OnePlus One sold nearly 1 million units in 2014

New smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus, hit the market with its flagship, the One, in June 2014. The device garnered a lot of attention worldwide because of the great specs and features that it offers at very low cost. According to PCWorld, The OnePlus One sold just a little less than 1 million units before the end of the year.

The specs of OnePlus One Android smartphone include: 5.5-inch 1080×1920 pixels IPS LCD with Gorilla Glass 3, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB or 64 GB built-in storage, 5 MP front camera, 13 MP rear camera, and 3100mAh battery. It shipped with Android 4 .4.2 (Kitkat) customized with CyanogenMod 13.

From an interview with Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, PCWorld reports:

Consumer response to the phone caught the Chinese company off guard. Originally, OnePlus estimated that product sales might reach between 30,000 and 50,000 units. By November, however, the company had sold half a million, or about “ten times more,” Pei added.
