Our first Glo 4G speedtest results are here

We have our first set of Glo 4G speedtest results, courtesy of Asuquo. He ran a series of tests around 12:30 pm on Friday 7th October at Eric Moore, Surulere in Lagos using a Lumia 950.

Not bad at all. Glo just needs to now extend 4G coverage seriously in Lagos. Too many places have zero coverage.

Compatible Smartphones

Asuquoe also informed me that though the Samsung Galaxy S7 is on Glo’s list of compatible smartphones, his wouldn’t pick a Glo 4G signal. 4G LTE is an ass.

He also mentioned that over six (6) Alcatel Pop 4 smartphones were sold at the Glo outlet while he was there. The Alcatel Pop 4 and Alcatel Pop 4S, among others, are also on Glo’s list of compatible 4G smartphones and is sold by the network operator.

I was at their Ikeja Glo outlet yesterday to pick a 4G SIM. I was told they weren’t available yet and they couldn’t say when they would be available. Plus, using the 4G scanner on several phones, I still am yet to get Glo 4G signal anywhere I have been in Lagos.

PS: Do not forget to have a look at our list of smartphones that are compatible with Glo’s 4G LTE network.
