Moto G4 series owners must be disapoointed. Clearly, there is no Oreo love for owners of budget Motorola smartphones. Same for Moto C and Moto E series devices as well. Budget devices get no love.

But Moto G4 and G4 Plus owners must be particularly heartbroken. At launch, Moto announced Android O updates for these devices, but they do not show up on this official update list from Motorola. Lenovo, what’s up?

When Is The Moto Oreo Update Happening?

Motorola hasn’t committed to a calendar yet, but says the update will start rolling out “this fall”. That sounds like anytime from September 2017.

In the meantime, is your Moto smartphone on the official Oreo update list?

I wonder why moto G4 and G4+ was left behind despite being powerful and latest on their series.

With a 1.5 GHz processor and 2 GB RAM, Moto G4 is anything but powerful. That’s entry level. Same goes for Moto G4 Plus.

Still, it would have been nice for Motorola to pull off updates for them. Someone in the Android ecosystem needs to replicate what Apple does with software updates. I had hoped it would be Motorola. I was wrong.

Thanks Mr Mo. I wrote this out of frustration because they (including android manufacturers) are depriving ‘middle budget’ buyers from enjoying the goodies of latest updates.

Yes; I daresay all Android manufacturers are guilty of this.
