At NGN40,000, the Redmi Note 5A Prime is a steal

Posted by

Redmi Note 5A Prime is a 4G smartphone with a 5.5 inches screen with Gorilla Glass protection, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, and a Snapdragon 425 processor.

There is a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone. For photography, it has a 16 megapixel selfie camera and a 13 megapixel rear camera. And for power, there is a non-removable 3080mAh battery.

A mobilista here has described it as a “mid-range Infinix killer”. Indeed, it is difficult not to compare it with the Infinix Note 4 (3GB RAM, 32GB storage version), which costs about N10,000 more.

The Redmi Note 5A Prime package is not extra-ordinary on its own, but for the N39,999 discounted price tag that it currently carries on Jumia Nigeria, it is a steal. And if you are resident in Kenya, Jumia Kenya has the 2GB RAM + 16GB storage version (Redmi Note 5A) for KSh 14,998.

  1. Wow!! Era of ordering for Xiaomi phones from AliExpress or Gearbest is gradually coming to an end. Looking forward to see Xiaomi service center locally

  2. This is interesting, I can’t believe a phone with such huge features could be sold at N40,000!! Infinix and Tecno need to watch out for this device.

  3. Pretty decent.

Not so keen on the processor.

Battery of 3080 without fast charging technology.

After sale services, is a big question mark.

Infinix and techno have carlcare, what does the Redmi have in place of carlcare????

  4. Ahh N40, 000 is too much for me now. what other phone can I get for lesser price but still has the best components.

  5. Try Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A 2Gb RAM 16GB ROM at 30k on Jumia provided dy haven’t increased the price.

  6. I have a lot of respect for this brand. They’ve made head way in other parts of the world before Nigeria.
