Samsung entices iPhone users with a 30-day free phone test drive

It is clear that Samsung is doing all they can to bite into the US market and have a chunk of the market Apple is feeding off. Sometimes you wonder is the Battle is between Apple and Samsung or Apple and Google, but that would be an argument for another day.

Samsung-test-drive

Like the blatant mimicking of iPhones was not enough, Samsung has come up with another trick up their sleeves- part of efforts to woo iPhone users to the Android side of life. This time, they launched a promo called Samsung Ultimate Test Drive.

Here’s an extract from the Samsung Promotions website:

For just one dollar, you can try one of our latest Samsung phones for 30 days with no obligation. Your test drive kit will come with the phone of your choice, an activated sim card, and a step-by-step guide to help you start your test drive.
After 30 days, if you buy a qualifying Samsung device, there’s even more love in store for you.

So basically you get to use one of their latest flagship devices for 30-days and then decide if you wanna buy or not. The service is currently restricted to US users only. It already seems the promo is doing fine, as they’ve run out of test devices.

The hilarity was that the offer was suspended because of demand – what can I say, everyone loves a bargain!

I can see it could easily go the other way if Apple offered the same. Consumers can be fickle 😀
