Making its entry into the exploring 3D Smartphone industry, South Korean technology giant Samsung has announced Galaxy 3D, a 3D version of its super hit smartphone Galaxy S II. As per reports, the Galaxy 3D gets ready with the similar tech specs of Galaxy S II except the 3D factor. Samsung is going to launch its first 3D smartphone in competition to the 3D smartphones such as HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D (LG Thrill 4G in the US).
The rumors spreading over the tech blogs predict a cutting-edge 3D smartphone from Samsung. The device will reportedly run on a 1.2GHz dual core Exynos processor and will have two 8-megapixel cameras in the rear panel for 3D capturing. Similar to Samsung Galaxy S II, its 3D version will sport a 4.3-inch 3D LCD display. An HD TV-out and several other multimedia features are expected to enrich the 3D smartphone from Samsung.
Galaxy S II v/s Galaxy 3D
As mentioned above, Galaxy 3D will be nothing other than a 3D version of Samsung’s market hit Galaxy S II. This South Korean company rolled out the dual core Galaxy S II in competition to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5, and other Android devices like HTC Sensation and Motorola ATRIX. As expected by analysts, Samsung Galaxy S II became a massive hit in global markets. The company sold out more than 5 million units of Galaxy S II in just 85 days of its launch. The smartphone is yet to hit the US stores.
Galaxy S II has been remarkable for its thinnest feature. With a dimension of 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm, the device is known as one of thinnest smartphones ever in the market. The 4.3-inch touchscreen with the Super AMOLED plus technology and solid Gorilla Glass is another feature of the device that runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Galaxy S II sports an 8.1-megapixel camera in the rear panel and a 2-megapixel camera in the front panel.
As per rumors, Samsung Galaxy 3D is expected to come up with the same tech specs except the dual 8-megapixel cameras for 3D capturing. Of course, since it is a 3D device, there might be some additional features like an enhanced processor that can make it a competitive device in the flourishing 3D smartphone market.
Galaxy 3D possibilities
Since Samsung Galaxy S II has so far become a hit in the market, there is a large possibility for the success of Galaxy 3D that comes under the same brand. In a time that the 3D technology is spreading to smartphones from TVs and monitors, there might be a large folk of customers who will have interest in a 3D phone from Samsung rather than LG, HTC and others.
