OnePlus smartphones have been running CyanogenMod, a custom Android MOD made by Cyanogen, the guys who want to free themselves and other users from Google’s iron fists. But recently, things went south between OnePlus and Cyanogen. True to their slogan of “never settle”, OnePlus has taken their own destiny in their own hands.
As such, they have announced that they will make their own custom Android ROM. This ROM will be “open, customizable, and free of bloat and unnecessary features”, said OnePlus in the announcement. And this ROM has been named OxygenOS.
OnePlus says to expect more information on February 12th.
