Sharp Aquos Crystal: “Look ma, no bezel!!”

Sharp Aquos Crystal

The Sharp Aquos Crystal has a 5-inch, 720 x 1280 pixel display, 8 GB internal memory, 1.5 GB RAM, Quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, and an 8 megapixel camera. The specs are largely run-of-the-mill.

But the Sharp Aquos Crystal’s edge-to-edge (top and sides) screen is beautiful. Sadly, this is not a GSM device. Bummer. Here’s a live shot (Source):

Thanks to Martinkem for the tip-off!

  1. The specs while adequate leaves it as a mid ranger. I like that it looks different however I would have preferred if that abominable bottom bezel was halfed and given to the top-side. Overall pretty neat.

  2. Well, I’ve Always Been At Sea As To The Real Reason Phones Need To Have Vertical Bezels. For Tablets, The Excuse Is That You Need The Bezel To Be Able To Grab Hold Of The Tablet.

The Horizontal Ones (Especially The Top) Are Understandable Due To The Space Needed For The Front Camera, Microphone And Possibly The Proximity Sensor (Which Has An Alternative Implementation – As Demonstrated By Some Lumia).

A Thin (Or Zero ) Bezel Would Ensure Maximum Screen Real Estate Utilizstion, Without A Corresponding Increase In The Overall Girth .

That Way, Lovers Of Seven_Inch Phones Would Have Their Dreams Easily Realized.. Without Having To Order New Sets Of Trousers With King Kong Pockets..

  3. Sharp has a lot of expertise from making LCD sad screens for OEMs . hopefully we’ll see a GSM version for European markets, that way we get to sample this

  4. Honestly, I sighted this and I was literally salivating…Gosh! God knows the screen has got me
