The Smartphone Show is an informal meetup of mobile and smartphone buffs scheduled for Saturday 23rd of October, 2010 at the University of Lagos Guest House.

Members of the general public are invited to come along with their Symbian, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Android, Bada, WebOS, iOS and Maemo smartphones to share, discuss and demonstrate their capabilities.

Individuals who are interested in knowing more about how mobile phones and services can help them with work and play will also find the Smartphone Show an event worth attending.

Individuals who are interested in doing brief on-the-spot reviews of their devices are welcome to send a mail to to apply for a spot.

Mobility Nigeria will also be announcing the names of winners of the ongoing WIN-a-Smartphone Promo. Particiapnts in the promo have the opportunity to win one of three smartphones, including a top-end device as the grand prize. The promo is open till the day of the event and can details be accessed at WIN-a-smartphone promo

Winners who are based outside Lagos will have their devices delivered to them via courier.

A mobile clinic service will be provided at the event, helping participants to setup mobile internet, mobile email and to troubleshoot issues that they may have with their mobiles and network services.

    Yes; but I am getting reports of some logistics problems. We might have to move the event forward by a couple of weeks. We should have arrived at a decision by tomorrow.

    I just got confirmation that Quam of MyCricketPDA who have been supplying us with review devices in recent times will be there, amongst others.

    More entries for the WIN-a-smartphone prromo have been received since yesterday. Remember that all those who purchased new phones from the Phone Store during the promo are also automatically entered.

    Winners will be selected via a lucky dip at the event tomorrow in the presence of all participants.
