On Wednesday 23rd July, SOLO Phone announced three new smartphones – each offering user access to 20 million songs by both local and international artists, as well as a wide range of Nollywood movies.
The SOLO S400 is an entry-level device, sporting a dual-core CPU, 512 MB RAM, 4-inch display, 4GB of internal storage (SOLO says that can hold 1,000 songs), and a memory card slot expandable up to 32GB. It comes in both black and white with silver trim, and is also “selfie” ready, with a front-facing camera, as well as a 3 megapixel rear camera. The S400 costs N13,000 only.
The SOLO S410 is a quad-core, 4-inch smartphone that comes in two colours – white and silver, and black and rose-gold. There is also a 5 megapixel rear camera, a front facing VGA camera, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm chip.
The S500 is the new SOLO flagship. It has a 5-inch full high-definition screen, a 1.2 GHz, quad-core CPU, an 8 megapixel camera (as well as a 2MP front-facing camera) and also has 8GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.3. The S500 is available in two colour combinations – black and rose gold, or white and silver.
