Sony makes some of the finest smartphones around but, year after year, they have been unable to turn this into profit. The consensus is that Sony mobile requires a drastic overhaul. Will cutting costs and focusing on high-end phones be enough to turn things around?
Reuters reports that the Japanese brand is “now open to options including sales and joint ventures for its money-losing TV and mobile phone operations”.
Back in 2012, Sony’s partner, Ericsson, pulled out of the Sony Ericsson joint venture because the business kept struggling.
