The concept of Android fragmentation is no longer a new thing to phone users. Today we have Android phones everywhere carrying various versions of the operating system. This is why, every month, Google publishes the statistics of users in the Android ecosystem. This give us a clear picture of how much, each version of Android occupies.
With Android N (Nougat) coming soon, Marshmallow takes up 13.3% of users ( 10.1% in May). KitKat and Lollipop still remains king with almost 65% of Android users – 30.1 & 35.1% respectively. Jelly Bean users have shrunk to 17.8%, while Froyo still stands with 0.1%.
