After two months of no show, Google has finally released the State of Android Reports for the month of November 2016. According to data collected, Android 7.0 Nougat can be found on 0.3% of all Android devices. Currently, the LG V20, Nexus devices, and the Pixel C are the only devices with Google’s latest operating system. A very slow start. This has been the case for other new Android releases.
On the other hand, Android Lollipop (5.0 and 5.1) still commands the highest numbers, 34.1% of devices. This is closely followed by Android 4.4 KitKat at 25.2%. Android 6.0 Marshmallow stands strong at at 24.0%, while Android 2.2 Froyo refuses to disappear – boasting of 0.1% of devices.
Users of Android Nougat will definitely grow before the end of the year, as many OEMs are preparing major software updates for their devices. Fragmentation is here stay for a long while to come.
