Some confusion was inevitable after TECNO’s decision to release two flagships this year instead of one. I’m sure by now there are people who are wondering what the differences between the Phantom 6 Plus and the Phantom 6 are. In this post, I highlight the differences, one 2016 TECNO Android phone flagship against another.
The two devices are similar in many ways. Each is a TECNO Android phone, with both running Android 6 Marshmallow and TECNo’s custom user interface, HiOS. Both have a metal unibody. They are both 4G LTE compliant. Both have an eye scanner. They both feature USB Type-C port and fast charge, as well as share the same pre-installed apps.
But there are differences, otherwise it would be pointless having two of them launched; right? That’s why the duo are referred to as “Beauty and The Beast” after all. I get to the differences after the jump.
Beauty Versus The Beast
I have highlighted where each device has an edge over the other, so it is easier for you to spot.
|Phantom 6||Phantom 6 Plus|
|Display: 5.5 inches, 1080 x 1920 pixels, 401 PPI. Corning Gorilla Glass 3||Display: 6.0 inches, 1080 x 1920 pixels. 367 PPI, Corning Gorilla Glass 3|
|2.0 GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10||2.0 GHz Deca-core MediaTek Helio X20|
|3 GB RAM||4 GB RAM|
|13 MP + 15 MP dual rear cameras with dual LED flash||21 MP rear camera with dual LED flash|
|32 GB internal storage + dedicated microSD, up to 128 GB||64 GB internal storage. Hybrid microSD slot, up to 128 GB|
|Iris scanner||Fingerprint scanner + Iris scanner|
|2,700 mAh battery||4,050 mAh battery|
In summary, the Phantom 6 is slimmer and handier, has a sharper display, has a more versatile rear camera that can utilise depth of field to produce pictures with bokeh effects, and you can use a memory card with it.
On the other hand, the Phantom 6 Plus is bigger because of its bigger display, will be better at multi-tasking, has more internal storage but if you want to use a memory card in it, you have to give up one of the two SIMs. It has a fingerprint sensor, and has a battery with almost double the capacity of the Phantom 6’s battery.
That is all the differences to these two 2016 TECNO Android phone flagships. I hope that this comparison helps you with seeing the differences clearly. So, which is your preference? Beauty or the Beast?
