Take Mobility Arena’s TECNO Phantom 9 poll and have your say: will you buy this first budget Phantom smartphone ever, or do you think you can get better from other brands?

After a long wait of almost two years, TECNO Phantom 9 is finally here. We tjhink that it packs some interesting specs and comes at an interesting price too. For the first time, we are seeing a budget Phantom smartphone from TECNO.

The Phantom 9 offers a 6.4-inch FullView AMOLED display, a cutting edge under-display fingerprint reader, 16MP triple rear camera with wide-angle secondary sensor and a depth sensor with quad flash, 32MP selfie camera with dual LED flash, Mediatek Helio P35 processor clocked at 2.35 GHz, 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM or internal memory, and a 3500mAh battery.

The AMOLED display is a first in many years for TECNO Mobile. The under-display fingerprint reader is a first for the brand. We think it is odd though that TECNO has not been clear about what fast charging technology is built into the phone.

But what takes the cake is the price at which the TECNO Phantom 9 is sold – ₦77,000. That is far below what Phantom phones have been sold in the past. They used to cost over ₦100,000 – the same price range as the current Infinix Zero 6.

As a matter of fact, TECNO Phantom 9 is in the same price range as the new Infinix NOTE smartphone, the Infinix Note 6. It is a completely different path for a Phantom phone. But who will complain about any phone becoming more affordable?

There is some mumbling in some circles about the Helio P35 processor though. Anyway, we thought to hear from you. What do you think of the complete package of the Phantom 9? Is this a steal for ₦77,000? Will you buy one?

  1. This isn’t the first Amoled from Tecno…you people should stop saying that!!!
Phantom Z, phantom Z mini, and phantom 6 all had Amoled displays.

  2. With all due respect, the phone is nothing to get excited about,a 77K phone with a Micro USB port in 2019 is DOA..

Let me not go into the subpar Chipset for the price and horrible on screen Finger Prints Scanner retention..

Poor battery capacity and no fast charger to boot?

Apologies to all the Marketers swamping the vote poll..
