At this year’s Google I/O event, the tech giant launched a new smartphone program called the Android One.

Android One is a programme for the production of lower end smartphones at affordable prices. Products of this project will pack features such as FM radio, Dual-SIM, MicroSD card. Micromax, a popular smartphone manufacturing company in India, will make the first Android One smartphone. Other phone makers taking part will be Spice and Karbonn.

The Micromax smartphone will have a 4.5″ screen display and will cost about $100 or less.

    The difference is that Google is designing the Android One phones and supporting them too like the Nexus devices. You can look at it as Nexus programme for low or midrange phones. They get timely updates from Google like the Nexus devices and are still very affordable with average specs.
