Libya does not make mobile news every day. The North African country has only two mobile network operators, Al Madar and Free Libyana. The latter is also the more advanced of the two. And now it has launched the first 4G network in Libya.
Libyana Mobile’s 4G LTE coverage is initially limited to Tripoli, Zawiya, Sabha and Misrata but reports say the service will be extended to other regions soon.
LTE is a fourth generation (4G) mobile technology that delivers data speeds up to 10 times faster than current 3G networks. As such, mobile internet subscribers in Libya with compatible phones can now enjoy super fast internet speeds.
