In this year of our Lord 2019, the months of July, August, and September witnessed quite a number of phone launches and announcements and some garnered more attention than others. Here is a roundup of the top 5 hottest smartphones of Q3 2019.
Quarter 3 of 2019 has just ended. The last three months are the months that transit us from the middle of the year to the end of the year. It was an interesting quarter that did not lack a colourful lineup of smartphone announcements and launches. But some phones generated more interest than others.
Step up to the hottest!
As a smartphone enthusiast, you are probably as curious as we were to find out which devices generated the most interest in the last quarter. Which is why we have looked at our statistics to extract information that helped us compile this roundup of the hottest smartphones of Q3 2019.
Our roundup of Q3 2019’s top 5 hottest phones will kick off from the 5th position and make its way up to the 1st place. Come along!
5th Place: TECNO Camon 12
In number 5 position is one of TECNO Mobile’s latest trio, the camon 12. The company announced three devices in the series at the same time – TECNO Camon 12, Camon 12 Pro, and Camon 12 Air. It is the regular Camon 12 that has generated the most interest.
TECNO Camon 12 brings to the game a 6.52-inch waterdrop AMOLED display, Mediatek Helio P22 chipset, 16 MP selfie camera, 16MP triple AI camera, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal memory, and a 4000 mAh battery for a fair price of N47,500.
4th Place: Samsung Galaxy A10 2019
In 4th place is one of Samsung’s new A-series phones, the Galaxy A10. It is a well built budget smartphone that packs a 6.2-inch LCD display, a 5 MP selfie camera, 13 MP rear camera, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory, and a 3400 mAh battery.
The specs are not bad at all. However, in our handling, we found the Samsung Galaxy A10 2019 plagued by a laggy experience in general. If you are not a power user though, that won’t mean a thing to you. This baby is all yours for les than ₦45,000.

3rd Place: Samsung Galaxy A20 2019
It speaks volumes of Samsung’s new A-series smartphones that two of them are in the top 5 hottest smartphones of Q3 2019 bracket. The Galaxy A10’s more powerful sibling is in 3rd place.
Samsung Galaxy A20 2019 is a delightful phone that has all the good things of the A10 and none of the bad. The laggy experience is gone and the IPS LCD display is replaced with an AMOLED panel. The package costs around ₦50,000 now.

2nd Place: Infinix Hot 8
And in the second place, the pendulum swings back to another Transsion brand, Infinix. Its HOT 8 is an exciting new entry – again in 3 variants (if you count the HOT 8 Lite) – that quickly caught not just your attention but ours as well.
Infinix HOT 8 offers a big 6.6-inch waterdrop display, Mediatek chipset, 8 MP selfie camera, 13 MP + 2 MP + AI low-light triple rear camera, up to 4 GB RAM, up to 64 GB internal memory, and a massive 5000 mAh battery.
The 2GB/32GB variant has been introduced at a price of ₦36,500, but it is the 4GB/.64GB variant that everyone – including all of us here at MobilityArena, are interested in.
1st Place: itel S15 Pro
And the king of the hill of Q3 2019 is itel’s S15 Pro, and for good reason. It is not every day that one comes across an entry-level smartphone that is so beautiful and thoughtfully designed.
The itel S15 Pro offers a dropdead gorgeous design, decent selfie camera, a triple camera setup on the back, a fingerprint scanner, decent memory, as well as a decent battery. See how many times we mentioned the word “decent” there? All for less than ₦30,000.
We have an itel S15 Pro review for your delight too.
And so, you have the 5 hottest smartphones of Q3 2019. Did you buy any of them, or are there any of them that particularly caught your fancy? Let is know.
Who knows what exciting new devices – apart from Google Pixel 4 – await us in this last quarter of the year? May the gods of all things mobile be with thee and thine.
