  1. First time am able to comment on Mobility in ages….. Sighs…. Used chrome browser this time though

  2. I commend Gionee for their effort but I also have to say that not making the update OTA has its drawbacks. It’s just not good that users are made to tether their device to a desktop computer to do what many others have been doing OTA for ages. In any case, this is their first effort so I’m hoping that future updates will be fully untethered.

I also hope Tecno are watching.

  3. For those complaining about OTA, if it was only via OTA, nigeria would not get the update cause for one to use OTA, the person has to be close to a server that has the update. Since the update is from India there is no way OTA would have worked here in nigeria. As for tecno am sure they are watching and laughing at gionee saying “this company has time and money to waste making updates when they could have easily made a newer phone and make more profit”

  4. I disagree about the upgrade being meant for techies. Anyone who knows how to follow instruction and install softwares in a PC should not find the upgrade process difficult.

  5. I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you create this website yourself or did you
hire someone to do it for you? Plz respond as I’m looking
to design my own blog and would like to know where
    u got this from. cheers

  6. In kitkat update in gionee m2, there are many bugs found during use it for 1 week.
    1. battery consumption is very high.
    2. Sometimes get hang.
    3. Not able to write on sd card to phone or phone to sd card.
    4. Some apps not work properly.
    5. playstore download stop any time during downloading any app or game from it.

So, jellybean is better than kitkat for this model only.
I have downgrade my phone from kitkat to jellybean after suffering from above issues.

  8. Yaa…. guys listen to him… he is totally right…

    The apps don’t work properly…
for example , whatsapp, hike , fb messenger etc..

all this apps don’t receive any messeges until u open them….

Hope new update will solve these problems….

  9. @vrushant its not the kit kat causing most of the problem its how gionee did it, the app problem u mentioned its bcos the system manager has disabled auto run in them, and it does dis once you use it to close apps even if its just the jet icon on notification tray. so what I did is to enable the apps and disable the system manager. using other apps to do the job of the foolish system manager. as for battery consumption, I don’t know what to say cos I haven’t noticed/had it that bad

  10. Hello Vrushant you are wrong with all your claims.I personally use Gionee M2 and I upgraded it to KitKat which works smoothly without any issues. Except for the general problems associated with KitKat.

  11. convert apps to system apps with link2sd and them the system manager will leave them alone. but b careful it can lead to boot loop

  12. How can i downgrade M2 from kitkat
After the upgrade i noticed the sim 1 is no longer 3G. if I switch to 3G the network disappears. What could be the reason and solution?
