Canalys’ latest report on the Chinese smartphone market has interesting info. One of the highlights is that there a brands control 50% of that market. Who are a the three brands? Hold your horses.
Some of the other key highlights of the report include:
- China’s smartphone market grew by over 9% year on year this quarter
- There were an estimated 114 million smartphones shipped in China in Q1 2017
- Xiaomi is struggling to keep up and has fallen out of the first three
So, who are the three brands that control 50% of China’s smartphone market? Here they are:
- Huawei: 18%
- Oppo: 17%
- Vivo: 15%
As you can see, Huawei only narrowly took back the first spot. Despite releasing a number of hot selling smartphones, Xiaomi has fallen down to 5th place.
I know Huawei Mobile will top the list, but right now, Xiomi is bigger than Oppo and Vivo.
Wow even Xiaomi that is regarded as the Apple of China.
