Unboxing, Hands on, and First Impressions with the TECNO L8

The TECNO L8 is here!! Launched less than a month ago, this phone represents the new path TECNO has chosen in recent times – which is producing gadgets with a focus on good design and aesthetics. The most notable feature of this device is the monstrous 5050 mAh battery. You can view the full specifications HERE. TECNO-L8 (2)

The huge battery rating is a welcomed development, considering the power issues in the country. Read on as we unbox this device and share our first impressions:

On opening the box, you find the phone lying at the top, below that is a pack containing the charger and USB cable, there’s also an added USB OTG cable. Just below the phone, you find another pack containing the manuals and a flip cover.

The phone itself was made with polished metal all round. A beauty to hold with premium look and feel. On the front lies the selfie camera, and the navigational buttons with no back light. When you flip the back, you see the 8 MP lens with the LED flash lying besides it. You slide this down to reveal the non-removable battery, and slots for SIM and micro SD cards. On the lower side, you find the speaker grill.

On the left hand side, there’s a special button – the ultra power saving button, while on the right, you see the regular power button and volume rockers. At the top lies the 3.5 mm jack while on the bottom side you see the USB v2.0 port and microphone.

I admire the polished design of this phone. The specs doesn’t look so spectacular, but I have a feeling that there’s more to this phone that meets the eye. Expect the full review any moment from now.
