Asus has made its intentions to spice up the VivoBook range clear. The VivoBook series now has a look inspired by the ZenBook line, and this results in a premium-looking mainstream laptop. On Monday, the company announced the VivoBook Pro I5 N580, and this device has some pretty impressive specs.
The VivoBook Pro I5 N580 will carry the company’s newest seventh-generation processor. This would be either the Core i7-7300HQ or the Core i7-7700HQ. It will also have great graphics from Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card. Furthermore, the laptop will have up to 2TB HDD storage, which will come in handy. That is quite amazing.
The ZenBook range serves as the inspiration for the design of the VivoBook Pro. It comes in just one color, gold. It also has a brushed aluminum finish and a backlit keyboard. The laptop makes quite a good use of space. Also, there is a number pad on the keyboard, which is usually not available in space-constrained laptops. The trackpad is shifted slightly to the left to better accommodate your hand placement during typing. Furthermore, since the laptop is of a golden color, it is harder to spot fingerprints.
There are lots of ports also, since the laptop does not need to be so slim. The VivoBook Pro comes with two USB 2.0 Type A ports, one USB 3.0 port and one USB 3.1 Type-C port. There are also LAN ports and an HDMI port, as well as an SD card reader and an audio jack.
The VivoBook Pro is will have a $799 starting price. However, there has not been word yet on when it will officially hit the market. In the meantime, here are some specifications for the device:
- Intel Core i7-7300HQ or Core i7-7700HQ
- Up to 16GB RAM and 2TB HDD
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050
- 47Wh battery
- 2 kg
- Price: $799
