Vodacom Tanzania 4G service went live in Dar es Salaam on May 11th 2016. Vodacom kicked off commercial operations in August 2000 and is now Tanzania’s leading cellular network company and the country’s largest wireless telecommunications network by subscriber numbers. The company began conducting 4G LTE tests in partnership with Nokia Networks as far back as 2013.
Vodacom Tanzania 4G service is said to be targeting 200 Mbs Mobile Broadband Access offered very soon in Tanzania. However, the service initially delivers up to 70mbps.

Vodacom Tanzania’s 4G LTE network was deployed by Nokia. The service is now live in Dar es Salaam, the nation’s capital. Coverage is expected to extend to all major cities in Tanzania, and later full nationwide coverage.
