NOO-gət. NOO-gaa. NUG-gat: What is Nougat?

Confession: Prior to the announcement of Android 7 as Nougat, I had NEVER heard the word before. So, I went searching and asking, “What is nougat?” Whatever it is, you will find it delicious and tasty.

What is Nougat?

I asked Google first (I mean, who else?), “What is nougat?”, the first result described nougat as: “a sweet made from sugar or honey, nuts, and egg white”.

Wikipedia has this to say about the subject: “Nougat is a family of confections made with sugar or honey, roasted nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, and macadamia nuts are common), whipped egg whites, and sometimes chopped candied fruit. The consistency of nougat is chewy, and it is used in a variety of candy bars and chocolates.”

And here is the one that will interest you if you are a mobile enthusiast or specifically an Android fan:

Android N for Nougat

Android N has now been named Android Nougat. Android 7 Nougat, to be more explicit.

Perhaps the only valid answer to the question, “What is nougat” to all of us mobilistas is: Android 7!

The bottom photo is the kind of nougat I’m used to seeing, the top one looks like another form of chocolate. Trust Google to pick a relatively less known confectionery – maybe they want to revive the sweetie industry 😀

Sane here. And I also went to check the WordWeb Dictionary.

Additionally, I didn’t know the meaning of the following too, before Google decided to enrich my vocabulary.

Éclairs (Chocolate éclairs sweet, yes, but what’s éclairs?)

    …and now…
