I woke up yesterday to find that Windows 10 Fall Creators Update for PC was ready and proceeded to download and install it on my laptop. Since Microsoft has said that the update for mobile will happen within the same timeframe, it is a good idea for Windows Phone users out there to get ready for it to pop up on their smartphones anytime from now. But note, supported Windows Phone devices are pretty limited.
Here is the list of Windows-powered smartphones that will get the update, arguably the last major update that will be available for Windows Phone devices:
Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Supported Smartphones
- HP Elite x3
- Wileyfox Pro
- Microsoft Lumia 550
- Microsoft Lumia 650
- Microsoft Lumia 950
- Microsoft Lumia 950 XL
- Alcatel IDOL 4S
- Alcatel IDOL 4S Pro
- Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
- Softbank 503LV
- VAIO Phone Biz
- MouseComputer MADOSMA Q601
- Trinity NuAns Neo
Lumia 640 and 640 XL owners will be in shock to find out that their devices have been dropped from the list. Sorry, guys.
If your phone is supported though, the update will bring improvements to Edge, Continuum, power consumption and other bug fixes.
But there are also a few features that will no longer be available once you upgrade. Among them is the Apps Corner feature. Kids Corner and FM Radio already disappeared with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update that rolled out in 2016.
Do let us know when the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update shows up on your Windows smartphone.
