The Xiaomi Mi 4 arrives Mobility: Hands on and Unboxing Review

Posted by

There’s excitement in the air!! This November promises to be the busiest month for us in the Nigerian tech space. So much to look up to. Today of all days, the beautiful Xiaomi Mi 4 found its way to Mobility Towers, and as always we do a quick unboxing before taking out time to review the device.

Remember that Xiaomi just launched in Nigeria through Jumia. The available models for now are the Xiaomi Redmi 2 and this Mi 4. The Xiaomi Mi 4 is a 5 incher screen with 1080p display, 3 GB of RAM, 3080 mAh battery, our unit here is the 16 GB model. See the full specs sheet HERE.

The brown box containing this device is tightly packed. At the top lies the phone. Beautiful. Elegant. Beneath that you find the USB cable, 2A wall charger, and a few booklets. That’s that. Now to the phone itself.

This phone would just appeal to you at first sight. It’s that beautiful. The sides are made of polished metal. Power button and volume buttons on the right, SIM tray on the left. Then USB v 2.0 port with speaker grills below. At the top lies the 3.5 mm earphone jack with a black dot beside it – probably a sensor of some sort.

The back is sealed, and made of glossy plastic as the battery is non removable. The phone currently runs MIUI v6, but I’m pretty sure an update is waiting once it’s connected to a network. Spoiler Alert!! 😀 the front camera tried to predict my age when I was testing out selfies.

This phone is beautiful inside out. Expect the review soonest.
