If you have an iPhone that you have absolutely no use for, what do you do with it? Do you give it out? Do you sell it? or do you turn it into something unusual? YouTube user EverythingApplePro picked the last option and turned his iPhone into a fidget spinner.
What is a fidget spinner? It is a type of stress-relieving toy, usually made of materials like brass, aluminum, plastic or stainless steel. It has a bearing in the center and two or more blades, which spin around the center. This toy was originally created in the nineties, but it became popular this year when it was marketed as a tool for helping people who have trouble focusing, or fidgeting, by acting as a release mechanism for their stress.
Suffice it to say that this toy is really popular right now. However, this dude wanted to see if he could use an iPhone as a fidget spinner. So he took an iPhone 5S, an iPhone 7 and an iPhone 4, drilled a hole through the middle of each, and put bearings in the holes. Then he spun each of the iPhones like a fidget spinner.
Each had different results. The bearing fit perfectly win the iPhone 5S, and it spun comfortably, but it could not fit comfortably in his hand. The iPhone 7 had similar results, but it was harder to fit in his hand on account if the phone’s length. The iPhone 4 is the smallest of them all, so it felt more like a fidget spinner. However, the glass on the screen and the back cover looked sharp enough to cause injury.
