Meta has added the ability to record and send Instant Video Messages on WhatsApp Messenger, making the world’s most popular messaging service even more versatile. Now, you and your friends and other contacts can interact with video messages, in addition to text emojis, and voice notes.
With this new development, you can now record and share short personal videos directly in your WhatsApp Messenger chats. Instant video messages allow you to introduce a visual dimension to your communications, which should enrich them. Visuals are an essential part of human communications.
How to record and send Instant Video Messages on WhatsApp
Sending an instant video message is as simple as sending a voice message. Here are instructions on how to go about it.
- In the chat you want to send an instant video, tap the microphone icon (the one you use to record and send voice notes) to switch to video mode; the audio icon will change to a video icon (see the screenshot above).
- Next, press and hold the video icon to record the video, similar to how you do it with voice notes. Once done recording, release the icon and the video gets sent.
That is it; you have sent your first instant video message. You can now get more expressive in your chats.
When you receive an Instant Video Message on WhatsApp
When you receive a video message, the videos will play automatically on mute when you open it in a chat, and this is good, especially for when you are in an environment where others are present. To unmute the video, tap on it and the sound will come on.
