The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a new SoC platform for premium flagships. In other words, this chipset is meant for the most powerful smartphones today. While it is a new chip, more and more phones are being released with it.
Qualcomm says artificial intelligence (AI) is the great marvel of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, citing that the embedded Qualcomm® AI Engine is their fastest and most advanced yet [1]. This AI focus translates to better 5G connectivity, camera optimizations, cinematic video capture, direct voice commands, and next-level gaming, among others, for users.
If you are based in the United States, your options of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones are pretty limited, well, because the options of phone manufacturers in the US is limited. Samsung is the DeFacto Android brand in the US, followed far behind by a handful of others like Nokia, OnePlus, TCL, Google Pixel, and others.
Seeing as TCL does not make premium flagship phones (yet) and Google smartphones do not use Snapdragon chips, what you are left with here in the USA are premium flagships by Samsung and OnePlus. Those are where you will, find the best Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 smartphones. Let’s jump into the list.
