Samsung is currently rolling out updates for the S20 series, with the update bringing the July 2020 Android security update. The Samsung Galaxy S20 phones are the first set of Samsung phones to get the July security patch. This update also brings a slew of camera improvements with it.
The new update is rolling out in Korea, and is expected to hit a number of regions soon. The update carries the firmware version G98xNKSU1ATFD and is not heavy at 386.35MB. Users of any of the S20 smartphones in Korea can manually check for the update in Settings > Software Update > Download & Install.
The new Galaxy S20 series update brings camera improvements like improved video stabilization and better magnification shots. It also lets you use Bluetooth microphones when recording audio through the voice recording app. However, this update permanently removes the MirrorLink function, which helped users connect compatible devices to certain infotainment systems for compatible vehicles.
The MirrorLink function was not particularly popular with users, but the feature will remain on S20 devices until the device is factory reset.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 series includes the S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra, with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra the pick of the pack. There are also reports that the company is working on a Lite model which may surface in October of 2020.
