The Alcatel Idol 3 (5.5) is a mid-ranger, but it looks and feels almost like a premium device. It has beautiful clean lines with faux metal rounded edges. The display is gorgeous – 5.5 inch, 1080 x 1920 pixel with a pixel density (401) that matches that of some of the best devices around.
Even better, it has front-facing JBL stereo speakers and a music app called Mix that is the most fun music app built into any smartphone that I have handled. Powering the Idol 3 is an octa-core processor from Snapdragon clocked at 1.5 GHz and 2GB of RAM. There’s 32GB of internal storage too. And it is dual, micro-SIM too. One of the SIM slots can take a micro-SD card of up to 128GB.
There’s a 2,900 mAh battery, 4G LTE, and USB Host in there too. And for your photographs, there’s a 13 megapixel main camera at the back and an 8 megapixel selfie camera up front. It is important to note that there is a 4.7-inch variant of the Alcatel idol 3, with slightly lower specs, so you don’t mix them up. You can see the full specifications of the Alcatel 3 (5.5) HERE.

This is one device you almost fall in love with from the word go. I did. But how does it perform in daily use? That is always the question? I will bring you the answer to that in a full review coming up later. In the meantime, feel free to ask me questions about the Idol 3 and I shall try to answer them as best as I can.
