Mobile network operator, Airtel Nigeria, has partnered with a security company to offer the ESET antivirus for Android smartphone users on its network.
The jury still out on whether or not our smartphones really need antivirus software. A cybersecurity company called ESET has partnered with Airtel Nigeria to offer a mobile security product to subscribers using Android smartphones on the network.
The nice thing about the ESET mobile security app is that it offers more features beyond just antivirus. The package includes Anti-Theft, Security Audit, App Lock, SMS and Call Filter and Password Protection.
What the ESET antivirus for Android does
In addition to free features like Anti-Theft, Security Audit, App Lock, SMS and Call Filter and Password Protection, the ESET mobile security app also offers premium features such as Anti-Phishing, Anti-Theft, Remote Lock, as well as SMS & Call Filter.
The suite of premium features are available to Airtel subscribers for just ₦150 monthly. All you need to do is download the app from Google Play Store for free, and if you want the premium features, upgrade. Note that ESET antivirus for Android users does not support dual SIM and rooted devices.
