This is good news only for SE. But in the industry as a whole,SE is not trying at all why is it taking them so long to do this. We are already talking about the 2.3/3.0 versions. Anyway better late than never.

Why tonight of all nights? It is raining cats and dogs – and that weather has my internet connection messed up. As such, I haven’t been able to complete the update.

It is bedtime, so I’ll just pack things up and retry in the morning. At least with weather like this, its looking to be a cool night.

    Update finally completed.

Tip for Update: Don’t use Sony Ericsson PC Companion; use Sony Ericsson Update Service instead.

One of the first things I did was benchmark the Mini Pro now that it runs v2.1 – and the results are amazing.

This little guy scores better than both the HTC Desire and Nexus One (running v2.1), and sits right below the Galaxy S on the scale.

Forget the size: if you want a powerful Android device but cannot afford the Galaxy S, give the X10 Mini and/or X10 Mini Pro a shot.

Benchmark scores aside, the Mini Pro feels snappier in real usage. My full review coming up as soon as I can root it to get screenshots or as soon as I can find a screenshot app that does not require root.
