Comparison Review: Infinix Hot Vs Infinix Hot 2

Yesterday, Google in collaboration with Infinix launched the Infinix Hot 2. Recall that, late last year, Infinix released the original Infinix Hot and it was a commercial success owing to it’s great value for money. We reviewed it on MobilityArena.com and saw it to be a Classic budget device. The successor is here and we decided to pitch these two together in a comparison review.

Hot VS Hot2

Let’s see the key specifications.

Infinix HotInfinix Hot 2

2,000 mAh battery2,200 mAh battery
N16,500N17,500 (1GB RAM); N19,500 (2GB RAM)

From the above table, we can see that both phones share the same processor and internal memory, and that’s about it. The Infinix Hot 2 comes with a better design and glass finishing, better display and better back camera (Same module in the Infinix Hot Note). The Hot 2 also comes with higher battery capacity and runs the latest version of Android with promised updates in the future.

It’s clear the Infinix Hot 2 dusts the Infinix Hot and in this regard unseats it as the king of budget devices. Meanwhile, expect our review of the Hot 2 soonest.

  1. I’m hoping to see how the camera performs. If it’s decent enough I’ll buy. The pixel density has killed me already. 321ppi on a 5” inches screen that’s my kind of screen.

    1. Hey Notiki can you tell me how this ppi stuff works. i want to learn. how does ppi affect the sceen display quality of a mobile phone?

    2. 321 ppi would hardly be amazing, if it wasn’t for a budget device. my 2 year old TECNO F7 has 294 ppi (without the on screen keys which are a waste of screen real estate) . really amazing screens start from somewhere around 350 ppi (according to Apple) or 400 ppi (according to Samsung)

    3. ppi (pixels per inch) is a measure of pixel density and an indication of how the phone’s display reproduces digital media, the higher it is the better the screen’s display will be (assuming the screens are of equal size)

  2. Pls I need help with my hot 2. How do I store things on my internal memory, it keeps telling me to put in memory card, of which I know it has 16gb internal memory and I haven’t used it at all

    1. Hello Libby, install a file manager application and check if the storage is actually showing. Or plug the device into a PC to see if it shows. If it doesn’t work, you might consider doing a factory reset.
