Since mid-April, Apple released the beta version of iOS 8.4 and just few days ago, they officially released it for the general public. The major overhaul is the replacement of the Music app with ‘Apple Music’- a music streaming service and a major competitor for Google Music and Spotify. This comes alongside their Beats 1 live radio service.

Enhanced iBooks App – Audiobooks have been moved from the Music app and now resides directly in the iBooks app. This means all book related content is all in one place, which makes a lot of sense.

Boosted CarPlay – iBooks app was also get upgraded as Apple’s CarPlay platform now has a dedicated audiobooks app.

Bug Fixes:

 

  • Fixes an issue where receiving a specific series of Unicode characters causes device to reboot.

  • Fixes an issue that prevented GPS accessories from providing location data.

  • Fixes an issue where deleted Apple Watch apps could re-install.
