TECNO used to be the front runner in the low end budget segment in Nigeria, churning out budget Android phones almost every month. The name TECNO was on the lips of almost everyone, but in recent times, we’re seeing a form of paradigm shift.
It seems TECNO has taken a back seat in business. We now hear of the likes of Innjoo, Infinix bubbling every where especially in online stores. What may be attributed tho this new trend? Are people tired and bored with TECNO? These questions have popped up every and then.
Looking at the situation critically. TECNO have relaxed in terms of innovation, most of their current crop of smartphones in the market no longer offer value for money. Trust my people to ‘put nose’ only in places where they get most benefits.
On the other hand, Infinix have raised their game, ever since the release of the Infinix Zero. The Infinix Hot was a classic budget device, the Hot Note and Hot Note Pro series are very popular and always out of stock in online stores. TECNO devices with 2 GB RAM, the Phantom Z Mini and R7 are quite pricey when compared to their Infinix and Innjoo siblings.
Is Infinix eating TECNO’s cheese in Nigeria? Your thoughts.
