The fight against malaria in India just took a new turn with LG announcing a mobile phone that helps you keep mosquitoes away. Basically, an anti-malaria smartphone. Or maybe not. The LG K7i is really nothing more than a budget smartphone that allows you swap back covers with a special “Mosquito Away” case that uses ultra-sound technology to repel mosquitoes. There is also a “Mosquito Away” stand to put the phone in when in use as a mosquito-repellent.
Using ultra-sound to repel mosquitoes isn’t new technology, but it is great to see a smartphone manufacturer package it into their product. Humans cannot hear ultra-sound waves but many animals can.
One wonders though, for a smartphone targeted at India, if the price couldn’t have been kept lower by building the ultra-sound device directly into the phone’s main case instead of throwing the special case and stand into the mix.

We definitely need this smartphone in Nigeria, to chase away mosquito from us, lol. Jokes apart, it should be brought to Nigeria, I’m sure lot of us would like it, and I hope it won’t be expensive
The price should have been kept low to attract the low level in the society who are prone to mosquito attack or a form of entry level type made for them.
