Mediatek’s new gaming chipset, Helio G90, is looking to be an upset in the smartphone space. A comparison of its benchmark test results with those of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 shows that the MediaTek chip is the better performer.
In AnTuTu benchmark tests, the Helio G90 is reported to have scored 222,282 points, as against the Snapdragon 730’s 211,915.
The difference is not huge, but it is interesting all the same to see a Mediatek processor outgun a Snapdragon competition.
The Helio G90 and G90T octa-core chipsets are clocked at a maximum speed of 2.05GHz and paired with the HyperEngine game technology for improved gaming performance in smartphones. Gaming smartphones are building momentum and Mediatek has are designed these new chips specifically for this growing category of smartphones.
